To be or not to be ...

OK, I have been craving a 3 column template for like forever and I finally have one. I am still not sure it works in Mozilla, but the font colors and font types are back to what I started with when I moved from Blogger to MT. I am not happy with that title gif and you can expect it to change. If I find a 3 column template that will stretch to the sides of the page, I will likely change. Thankfully, I am about as adept and changing CSS files now as I need to be. Of course, with all this work and coming back to something close with what I started with, and seeming to have lost about 50% of my visitation rate while I was experimenting, I am wondering if maybe I have hit the end of my rope this time. Could it be that the time has arrived for me to give up on blogging and to move on to another hobby? It is not like I really have anything much to add to the topics going around on the Blogosphere, and my life is not all that interesting, except maybe to one or two people out there, and I really do need to get back to work on my book. That is surely something to think about, huh?

Ok, I love the 3 column look. Not sure I love the white background, but I am the woman with the salmon and teal blog, so what do I know? The 3 columns look terrific in Mozilla. However, the pop up comment box still is funky. Not to worry though, I just came to the archives here, where it is gloriously Halloween-like, and typed my comments.

And enough with the threatening to quit blogging! Half your readers are probably waist-deep in water right now, and will visit again when power is restored.

Here's the 3-column I modified for our site. The outer columns are a set size, and the center column expands to fill.

Thanks Jed. I am gonna stick with it this way for a bit, butplay with that one on the side until I can duplicate what I have into that template. ;)

Susie, sweetie, I am so sorry, but I am a stickler for those petty details. I had to change the archives back since 50% of my readers come in that way, and then I had to change the comments so that people would think I didn't just forget to change them. I liked the orange on black.

The orange on black looked slick, but if you read it for any length of time, it was painful. I like the new/old colors...much easier on the eyes.

Of course, you could make both stylesheets available, and use Javascript and cookies to allow people to select whichever they prefer.

(Runs away very quickly.)

By the way, it's working fine in Mozilla - except that it doesn't resize, which you already know.

I miss the cute tiger too! *sniffle* But this new look is a lot easier on my eyes, I'll admit...

In the end, you just do what'cha wanrt to to, Tig--your readers care more abouut the content than the packaging! :-)
