Texas is nice, but sometimes it can be too nice. - *The Patriette*Posted by notGeorge at November 18, 2003 11:07 PM
I'm just not a "hug" kinda person - at least not as a standard greeting. Most of my truly Texan friends (the "real" Texans who were born and raised here - or so they say), seem to give hugs for almost everything - to say hello, to say goodbye, to say what's up, to say I'm sorry, etc.
I am more stingy with my hugs. Maybe it is that cold yankee blood in my veins from my NJ and OH relatives that makes the whole "touchy feely hug" thing seem a little odd to me. I give hugs but you have to earn 'em first.
But no complaints about most things in Texas - I'm all for the lower taxes, pro-gun policies, and capital punishment here. Not to mention, the whole thing about Texas being its own country is pretty nifty. Whoop!
