You see, just like you guys get no Aussie history in school, we get no Texan history in school. This is your opportunity to correct the ignorant ....
We had an American exchange history teacher when I was in High School who did not know that Australia fought in both World Wars (and lost more men in WWI than the US). He had no idea that Churchill (UK) and Curtin (AU) had disagreed over the Japanese - Churchill was happy for the Japanese to take Australia and Curtin (surprisingly) was not as a result the army started accepting 14-75 year olds instead of 18-40's to fight in New Guinea.
