It seems that you might have even a better reason to stay home and shop online.

WASHINGTON - U.S. officials have obtained new intelligence deemed highly credible indicating al-Qaida or other terrorists are in the United States and preparing to launch a major attack this summer.
The FBI and Homeland Security Department also are concerned about so-called soft targets such as shopping malls anywhere in the United States that offer a far less protected environment . . . .

I'm sorry, but I cannot take that seriously. How many times, since 9/11, have we been told that another big attack is imminent? Hell, it probably is, but when it comes, it will not be accompanied by heavy media coverage and a color of the day. They'll catch us with our pants down, just like last time. Does that sound cynical? Well, gosh, sorry. Seeing planes smash into the WTC and watching people jump 90-100 stories to their deaths and hearing the south Tower roar as it fell in 43 seconds flat has made me frigging cynical.
