Ping pong . . . please get the door

I am mostly ragging on myself because I kind of played hookey from work today as I had to hang around so this friend of mine I am assisting in doing a pro se divorce could come and pay me for the favor by cleaning my lair. I was only here so I could watch to make sure I knew where to find everything after she straightened up my clutter. It is amazing how effortlessly and efficiently a woman can clean. What I thought would be an all day job, she completed in three hours while her three little kids [9, 7 and 4] sat and watched a couple of my movies*. I am not sure my toilet and tub were that clean when I moved into this place. All I have to do is to carry the 15 bags of trash out to the curb on Friday, or next Tuesday, or next Friday . . . you get the idea.

Anyway, it seems that

  • michele is having one of her more bizarre days
  • Tracy is fretting about being oriented [or is that reoriented]
  • Susie is off doing a 12 hour shift at work
  • Jennifer is playing golf [or at least that is what most guys think of when you say you are "hitting the links"]
  • annika must still be getting her beauty sleep, like she needs any of that
  • Deb hears voices in her head, or is that strains of Merle Haggard?
  • Sassy is sensing conspiracies
  • Ith can't wait for The Return of the King
  • Jane is still out trying to locate that tape, I guess
  • Cherry is rambling along nicely, finally, and getting into true blogger form
  • Da Goddess finds that a simple butterfly can uplift your spirits in trying times [and let's all keep Spenser in our prayers!]
  • Kate ... well Kate is Kate and her bite is as venomous as ever!
  • Jen had an encounter with an idiot
  • Patty is missing in action
  • Anna is sharing good times with her family
  • Lesley is also missing in action
  • Lynn S is still having problems with her previous domain server
  • Serenity is sweltering in the heat
  • Gianna reminded me I know very little about Australian politics
  • Erica is busy fantasizing about the sensuality of the Golden Mean
  • Sharon is hearing disco music in her head
  • LeeAnn is still MIA and has left us all in a lurch with an unsatisfied craving for more cheese on our cracker
  • Lily Malcolm is busy with her last day of taking the Virginia Bar Exam, no word on Abby, Iris, or Kate
  • I am not sure what is up with Andrea
  • Kathy is feeling whimsical today
  • Denita had a rough night but shares in Eric's thankfulness at the generosity of strangers . . . and
  • L. is just busy
Yeah, heah, I know . . . I didn't discuss what going on in any of the guy's lives today**, but hey, I decided this was going to be LADIES' DAY. This is one of those rare occurrences which only happens when I can pay, cajole or cry my way into getting some efficient lady to straighten up my lair.

*They really liked Naughty Nurses, but didn't seem to understand the plot of Debbie Does Dallas.***

**Well, Eric did get that one mention, and, of course, you know what I have been up to today.

***Just kidding of course. I actually do not own such movies. The double feature, without popcorn, as I was fresh out, consisted of James and the Giant Peach followed by Indian in the Cupboard.****

****I really like this movie as the moral is so easy to explain: It is wrong to play with people.

Hey, Tiger, thanks for the linkage. :-) I did settle on "Hitting the Links" for my links of the day because it seemed slightly more clever due to its golf reference. Enjoy your day off. :-)

You know, I'm really starting to love those asterick messages. They grow on one after awhile.

Everytime I read this page and see them, I say the same thing in my head: "He's SUCH a lawyer."

Thanks for the link btw!

I do proudly claim the title that David has bestowed upon me: "the undisputed master of the asterisk in the blogosphere" [ending punctuation purposely omitted]

Personally, I think 'Debbie Does Dallas' was vastly overrated. I'd much prefer something like 'Bobby does Bangkok'.

But then, I'm a female...

Hey, thanks for the linkage. I'm proud to be a part of the Ladies Day list.

And I deal with idiots every day - I work for the federal government, remember?
